Letters continue to go out from employers to advise employees their spouses will not be covered by their health insurance if the spouse has access to insurance through his or her own employer. My family received our letter this week. I anticipated this after writing a column about it in February.
A fan of the president’s health tax bill might say, “What’s the problem? The spouse can stay on the employee’s plan if the spouse doesn’t have access to insurance at his or her own job.” That sounds good only on the stump.
The problem, aside from what will surely be differences in coverage, involves time and resources.
Last year, I dealt with a stack of medical bills after a loved one had an illness that required surgery. From keeping up with medications to trying to figure out what the patient owed and what services were being charged, the consumption of time was astounding. One billing error, another error because of confusion over (drum roll) Obamacare, and keeping up with followup appointments often made time a challenge.
Now at enrollment time, spouses who are affected by this change will deal with two signup processes. We all know how long those signups and health information forms can take. And there will be more tax forms as well—IRS is going to require you to validate your insurance.
Now many working couples will have two different insurance providers unless the couple works for the same employer. These couples may not be able to see the same doctors (yes, the president misled us on that too), and trying to plan a budget while juggling different plans may prove difficult.
As I wrote in February, the kids are in but buy modafinil online sun pharma.
This development is another in a long road of assaults on the nuclear family at the hands of “progressives” who believe our lives can be run from a textbook pedestal.
Democrats called senators like Ted Cruz an “extremist” after he told Americans the truth about the Obamacare tax bill. Fact is, the real extremists are Democrats who have slammed American families with a tax bill that will hit the working class hardest, penalize those who do work, dilute the value and the security of our healthcare, and worst of all, hand out fat subsidies to federal employees who are part of the political class enjoying a status those of us outside it cannot obtain.
President Barack Obama and his socialist Democrats misled Americans in so many ways about what we now know is a health tax bill, not a health care bill. Next time you watch evening news on a legacy network, bear in mind that news provider helped the president mislead you and obviously, you can’t rely on politicians or media to tell you the truth about what Democrats are doing with taxpayer money, harming those of us on whose backs the productivity of this country rests.
The letter my family received said that in addition to buy modafinil singapore, “multiple changes” are coming to our healthcare. Despite all the president’s pretty words, I know that letter means nothing good will come of this for our family.
Ultimately a lot of spouses may simply end up on public exchanges if employers face cost increases to insure them. I suspect that was the Dems’ goal all along in their party’s frenetic march towards full socialism.
