It’s ironic that legacy media like NBC finally decided to tell Americans the truth about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), a tax bill promoted as a healthcare bill. There are quite a few truths media didn’t shine a light on, and one of them has to do with the uninsured. Photos that initially appeared on the Obamacare website are another matter media have overlooked.
Start with one of the most important omissions about health insurance. Democrats hoodwinked Americans with vastly inflated numbers of those who are uninsured. No one talked about the temporarily uninsured—people between jobs. Another big omission involved specifics about the uninsured population.
The Employment Policies Institute did a great deal of work on both matters.
For starters, consider the fact that the uninsured aren’t always without coverage because they can’t afford it. For instance, one 2009 study conducted by Dr. June O’Neill, director of the Congressional Budget Office during the last half of President Bill Clinton’s term, found “nearly half of those uninsured Americans could likely afford to purchase health coverage. The average buy modafinil singapore.”
Another 2009 study by Dr. O’Neill yielded facts about the uninsured population no media or politician from either party talked about. Based on statistics Dr. O’Neill disclosed (using Census data), it became evident that nationalized healthcare would ultimately be an important component of any amnesty the GOP or Democrats might pass.
O’Neill’s study buy modafinil paypal showed (boldface added):
* The uninsured are more likely to be male, under the age of 35, much more likely to be unmarried and have no children.
*The uninsured are almost 4 times as likely to be high school dropouts, more than 3 times as likely to be hispanic, and close to 4 times as likely to be foreign-born non-citizens. A large percentage never worked during the year or worked only part of the year.
* The involuntarily uninsured are more likely to be Hispanic and to be foreign born non-citizens and their educational level is considerably lower. One third of the involuntarily uninsured are high school dropouts compared to 20 percent of the voluntarily uninsured. The involuntarily uninsured are almost twice as likely as the voluntarily uninsured to have never worked during the year. About 15 percent of the voluntarily uninsured are self-employed.
Instead of tackling the uninsured population, Democrats decided to deconstruct the entire U.S. healthcare market. That approach impacted every single American but the bill wasn’t passed to benefit most of us.
It’s useful to point out that companies who claim they can’t find Americans to do necessary work could provide insurance for imported workers. That would solve the health insurance problem for the largest uninsured constituency.
Democrats have long advocated for socialized insurance. The party saw an opportunity to move the country closer towards government single-pay insurance and that, in addition to identity politics, was the real reason for the Obamacare tax bill. The bill also provided a convenient vehicle for massive stealth tax hikes.
NBC News admitted that President Barack Obama, even as he guaranteed Americans they could keep their current insurance, knew he wasn’t being truthful. buy modafinil europe. Dems avoided dealing with that because they knew 2012 would be a hard election year if all the controversies surrounding Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRS scandals and a lousy economy rained on their party’s head alongside the Obamacare tax bill catastrophe.
Americans were hoodwinked by the “progressive” Dems once again. Most media played a large role in the outright deception.
The Obamacare tax bill website featured photos of women on the portal page. The nationality of the most recognized woman appeared to be hispanic. Another image shown on various TV networks appeared to be that of women of Asian ethnicity. There was a reason for the selection of those particular photos. Although most uninsured are male, most are also foreign-born. Featuring a female minority gave Dems a two-fer.
Those photos no longer appear on the portal page for the website. There’s a reason for that as well.
