Obama and Clinton mute on deaths from federal weapons gone missing or trafficked

Fast and Furious guns

President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Democrats in general go after the 2nd Amendment any time there is a tragedy involving guns. The political exploiters sing to the anti-gun choir Democrats nurture.

Yet not one single reporter has asked Obama, Clinton, or any Democrat how many people have died as a result of federal weapons gone missing or trafficked. Or for that matter, how many might have died from weapons a former Democrat state senator attempted to traffic to Islamist radicals.

How many federal weapons can’t be accounted for, both weapons inventoried at federal agencies or sent across the southern border as a result of the most hare-brained federal operation I’ve seen in my lifetime?

Thousands.

Start with California Dem Leland Yee, once considered a star in that party’s political circles. The former state senator was rabidly anti-gun and even anti-video game. Now he’s doing time for racketeering. Forbes summed up the state of Yee’s criminal hypocrisy:

“Alleged arms trafficker, and anti-gun California Democratic State Senator Leland Yee knew that an arms deal he was attempting to facilitate would send money to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (M.I.L.F.) in exchange for weapons, and that those weapons were intended to be imported into the U.S., and distributed in North Africa, and Italy.”

Yee drew only five years despite the fact he knew many people would die from what he was doing. Why didn’t he face treason charges? No one asked.

Speaking of California, that state was home to a murder committed with a stolen federal firearm possessed by a carrier who obviously did not secure his weapon. Kate Steinle was shot down by a foreign national who had been deported multiple times. That foreign national had seven felony convictions. The “.40-caliber pistol” said CNN and other media, was stolen from a Bureau of Land Management employee who left the gun in his car.

Not one media have asked questions of this BLM bureaucrat. Where, in the car, was the weapon? Why did you leave the pistol in the car?

Segue to various reports like a GAO report that found:

“In addition, 15 of the 18 federal agencies GAO reviewed reported a total of 1,012 firearms as lost, stolen, or otherwise not in their possession between September 30, 1998 and July 2002, further indicating the need for stronger controls. Of these firearms, 188 were recovered, leaving 824 firearms still missing.”

That was in 2003. You’d think bureaucrats would have improved their record, right? Not.

By 2013, the Interior Department’s Inspector General took a look at a single entity, the US Park Police:

In the report, released on Wednesday, the OIG said it discovered more than 1,400 weapons that could not be accounted for, some of which should have been destroyed.”

Federales’ lack of accountability didn’t just affect the US homeland. Fast and Furious, the federal gun-running operation that would have caused a Republican president to face impeachment, sent so many guns across the US southern border into Mexico we don’t even know how many there were.

Judicial Watch obtained Dept. of Justice documents showing Mexican drug cartels got some of those guns, and it’s estimated that at least 69 people in the US and Mexico died as a result. You can bet the actual total is far higher. Even cartel icon Joaquin “Chapo” Guzman had a gun trafficked via Fast and Furious.

Sharyl Attkisson, one of the only real branded media journalists alive today, breaks down some of the crimes committed with the Obama administration’s Fast and Furious weapons.

How horrendous was this unethical operation? Insight Crime wrote:

“Weapons linked to the controversial US anti-gun trafficking operation “Fast and Furious” were found last spring at the scene of a bloody clash between Mexican police and a group of alleged cartel gunmen that left 43 dead, according to documents obtained exclusively by InSight Crime.”

Mexico’s officials were reportedly not told about Fast and Furious. Why not? How was then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton so out of the loop she didn’t warn authorities in a neighboring country bureaucrats were sending weapons into the hands of criminals? Not one media outlet has asked Mrs. Clinton a single question about that operation.

When it comes to Mrs. Clinton, many other questions haven’t been asked either. Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama helped secure the fall of Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi.  This action, as much as any, illustrates Mrs. Clinton’s utter ineptitude in the position and power she held. As The Guardian (UK) reported:

“Urgent efforts to secure anti-aircraft missiles from Libya after the fall of Muammar Gaddafi blinded western governments to the danger of other weapons going missing and fuelling conflicts in Mali and elsewhere.”

Gaddafi posed not a single threat to the United States, by the way.

Now we learn something else about Mrs. Clinton, in this case, regarding Syria:

“Hillary Clinton received a classified intelligence report stating that the Obama administration was actively supporting Al Qaeda in Iraq, the terrorist group that became the Islamic State.”

If nothing else, all these lapses and ineptitude suggest you simply cannot trust legacy national media to inform you.

As Democrats demand more restrictions on Americans when it comes to the 2nd Amendment, thousands of lives might be saved if their own party members and bureaucrats who mostly vote Democrat were either prohibited from carrying weapons or stopped arming terrorists who want to kill us.

That is the near-unforgivable hypocrisy the party of Democrats and their friends in national media are guilty of. They’re mum on something else too—deaths like that of Jamiel Shaw, caused by foreign nationals in this country illegally.

Ours is a government run amok, and no Washington insider is going to fix it.
